Privacy Policy — The Kairos

The Kairos is a bilingual app for self-reflection, life rhythm and cultural exploration, provided by First Chain Technology LLC (“we”). This policy explains what the app keeps on your device, what it sends, to whom and why, and the choices you have.

1. What stays on your device

  • Birth profiles you create: display name, calendar type, birth date, birth time and how sure you are of it, time zone, an optional relationship label, the language of the profile and, if you use the birthplace search, the chosen place’s name, latitude, longitude, time zone and country.
  • Computed BaZi charts. The chart is calculated on your device.
  • Saved reflections you asked the app to generate.
  • Settings and flags, such as the active profile, your app language, your AI-sharing choice (§4) and, if you use a subscription, a random install identifier and its credential (§5). The active profile, the language and the install credential are kept in your device’s secure keychain; the rest in the app’s local database.

We do not back up or sync these items to a cloud service.

2. What the app sends, and why

Birthplace search. If you search for a birthplace, the text you type is sent to our server, which looks it up with the GeoNames place service and returns matching places. Only the search text is sent.

AI reflections (only after you agree, §4). When the app prepares a reflection (Home Today, Month and Year, Me details or Compatibility), it sends to our server, for that request:

  • your computed chart: the birth date, birth time and its certainty, time zone and calendar type it was calculated from, the derived birth instant, the birthplace longitude and time zone when they were used for solar-time correction, and the chart’s pillars and luck pillars;
  • the reflection type, language and period, your device’s current time zone and, for Compatibility, the second chart and the relationship type;
  • random app identifiers: a profile identifier and, when subscriptions are checked, the install credential (§5).

Your name, profile label, birthplace text and birthplace latitude are not sent.

The app does not read the advertising identifier (IDFA), does not ask to track you, and contains no analytics or crash-reporting SDK. It does not use your device’s GPS location.

3. Our server and its logs

Our server runs on a hosting provider (Render). It uses what the app sends to answer that request and does not keep a copy of your charts or reflections. It keeps a membership check result in memory for up to five minutes.

Like most web services, the server writes request logs: the time, the request path including any search text in the address (such as a birthplace search), your IP address and the result status. Request bodies — your chart — are not written to the logs. When a reflection cannot be used and a fallback is shown, the log may also record the reflection type, the period and short excerpts (up to about 80 characters) of the generated text that failed our checks. The hosting provider keeps logs for a limited time under its own terms.

4. Third-party AI services

To write a reflection, our server passes a structured summary of your chart to a third-party AI service.

  • Which services. The main service today is DeepSeek. Depending on the server configuration, now or in a later version, the app may also use OpenAI, Anthropic (Claude), Alibaba Cloud (Qwen) or Moonshot AI (Kimi).
  • What they receive. Chart facts derived from your chart — such as the four pillars, Ten Gods, branch relations, element balance and luck pillar — with the reflection period and its time zone, the language, the reflection type and, for Compatibility, the relationship type. Your birth date and birth time themselves are not included (the pillars are calculated from them), and neither are your name, profile label, birthplace or any app identifier.
  • More than one service for one request. A request goes to one service at a time. If that service fails, or its draft does not pass our checks, our server may pass the same request, together with the earlier draft, to another service listed above.
  • Why. Only to write the reflection you asked for.
  • Their terms. Each service processes the data under its own terms and privacy policy. We do not make promises on their behalf about how long they keep it or how they use it.
  • Your choice. The app asks before the first AI reflection. Nothing is passed to an AI service until you agree. You can decline, and you can withdraw at any time in Settings → AI data sharing; after that the app starts no new AI reflection request. Your profiles, charts, saved reflections and the other on-device features keep working. If the services, the kinds of data or the purpose change, the app asks you again.

5. Subscriptions

Purchases are processed by Apple. We do not receive your payment details.

We use RevenueCat to check whether your subscription is active. When subscriptions are checked, our server issues a random install identifier with a signed credential, which the app keeps in your keychain. The app links that identifier to your purchases in RevenueCat, and our server asks RevenueCat for the subscription status of that identifier when you open a subscriber feature. RevenueCat receives purchase and subscription information and that identifier, and processes it under its own privacy policy. We use this only to provide your subscription, not for advertising or tracking.

6. Your choices and deleting data

  • AI sharing: Settings → AI data sharing (§4).
  • Delete all local data: Settings → Delete All Local Data removes your profiles, charts, saved reflections and your AI-sharing choice from the device (the app asks again before any AI reflection). Your app language is kept.
  • Uninstalling removes the app’s data, but items in the iOS keychain (the language setting and the install credential) can remain until the device is reset.
  • We do not keep a copy of your charts or reflections on our server. For questions about server logs or anything else, contact us (§9).

7. Children

The Kairos is not directed at children under 13. Please do not create a profile on behalf of a child.

8. Changes

We will post changes here and update the date above. A change to the AI services, the kinds of data shared with them or the purpose is also shown in the app, which asks for your choice again.

  • 設定與旗標，例如目前的檔案、應用程式語言、您的 AI 資料處理選擇（第 4 節），以及——若您使用訂閱——隨機產生的安裝識別碼與其憑證（第 5 節）。目前的檔案、語言與安裝憑證保存在裝置的安全鑰匙圈中，其餘保存在應用程式的本機資料庫中。

我們不會把這些資料備份或同步到雲端服務。

2. 應用程式傳送的資料與原因

出生地點搜尋。 若您搜尋出生地點，您輸入的文字會傳送到我們的伺服器，由伺服器向 GeoNames 地名服務查詢並回傳相符的地點。只傳送搜尋文字。

AI 反思內容（必須先經您同意，見第 4 節）。 應用程式準備反思內容（首頁的今日、本月、本年，自我詳解或合盤）時，會在該次請求中傳送給我們的伺服器：

  • 計算好的命盤：計算所用的出生日期、出生時間與其確定程度、時區與曆法、推算出的出生時刻、用於太陽時校正時的出生地經度與時區，以及命盤的四柱與大運；
  • 報告類型、語言與期間、裝置目前的時區；合盤時另含第二份命盤與關係類型；
  • 隨機產生的應用程式識別碼：檔案識別碼，以及確認訂閱時使用的安裝憑證（第 5 節）。

您的姓名、檔案標籤、出生地文字與出生地緯度不會傳送。

應用程式不會讀取廣告識別碼（IDFA），不會要求追蹤您，也沒有任何分析或當機回報 SDK；不會使用裝置的 GPS 定位。

3. 我們的伺服器與記錄

我們的伺服器在主機服務商（Render）上運作。伺服器只用應用程式傳來的資料回應該次請求，不保存您的命盤或反思內容；會員確認的結果會在記憶體中保留最多五分鐘。

與大多數網路服務一樣，伺服器會寫入請求記錄：時間、請求路徑（包括網址中的搜尋文字，例如出生地點搜尋）、您的 IP 位址與結果狀態。請求內容（您的命盤）不會寫入記錄。當某份反思內容無法使用而改顯示替代內容時，記錄也可能包含報告類型、期間，以及未通過檢查的生成文字的簡短片段（約 80 字元以內）。主機服務商依其條款在一定期間內保存記錄。

4. 第三方 AI 服務

撰寫反思內容時，我們的伺服器會把整理後的命盤摘要交給第三方 AI 服務。

  • 使用哪些服務。 目前主要使用 DeepSeek。依伺服器設定，現在或日後的版本也可能使用 OpenAI、Anthropic（Claude）、阿里雲（通義千問 Qwen）或 Moonshot AI（Kimi）。
  • 它們收到的資料。 由您的命盤推算出的內容——例如四柱、十神、干支關係、五行與大運——加上報告期間及其時區、語言、報告類型，合盤時另含關係類型。出生日期與出生時間本身不會提供（但四柱是由它們推算出來的），您的姓名、檔案標籤、出生地與任何應用程式識別碼也不會提供。
  • 同一請求可能交給不只一個服務。 每次只把請求交給一個服務。如果該服務失敗，或它寫的內容沒有通過我們的檢查，伺服器可能把同一請求連同先前的草稿，交給上面列出的另一個服務。
  • 用途。 僅用於撰寫您要求的反思內容。
  • 它們的條款。 各服務依其自身的條款與隱私政策處理資料。我們不代替它們就保存期間或使用方式作出承諾。
  • 您的選擇。 應用程式會在第一次產生 AI 反思內容之前詢問您。在您同意之前，不會有任何資料交給 AI 服務。您可以拒絕，也可以隨時在「設定 → AI 資料處理」撤回；撤回後應用程式不會再發出新的 AI 反思內容請求。您的檔案、命盤、已儲存的反思內容與其他在裝置上運作的功能照常可用。若服務、資料類別或用途有所變更，應用程式會再次詢問您。

5. 訂閱

購買由 Apple 處理，我們不會收到您的付款資料。

我們使用 RevenueCat 確認您的訂閱是否有效。確認訂閱時，我們的伺服器會發給一個隨機產生的安裝識別碼與簽署過的憑證，應用程式把它保存在鑰匙圈中。應用程式會在 RevenueCat 把這個識別碼與您的購買連結起來；當您開啟會員功能時，我們的伺服器會向 RevenueCat 查詢這個識別碼的訂閱狀態。RevenueCat 會收到購買與訂閱資訊及這個識別碼，並依其自身的隱私政策處理。我們只用這些資訊提供您的訂閱，不用於廣告或追蹤。

6. 您的選擇與刪除資料

  • AI 資料處理：「設定 → AI 資料處理」（第 4 節）。
  • 刪除所有本機資料：「設定 → 刪除所有本機資料」會從裝置上刪除您的檔案、命盤、已儲存的反思內容與 AI 資料處理選擇（之後產生任何 AI 反思內容之前，應用程式會再次詢問）。應用程式語言設定會保留。
  • 解除安裝會移除應用程式的資料，但 iOS 鑰匙圈中的項目（語言設定與安裝憑證）可能保留到重設裝置為止。
  • 我們的伺服器不保存您的命盤或反思內容。關於伺服器記錄或其他問題，請與我們聯絡（第 9 節）。

7. 兒童

The Kairos 並非為 13 歲以下兒童設計。請勿代替兒童建立檔案。

8. 政策變更

變更會公布在此處並更新上方日期。若 AI 服務、交給它們的資料類別或用途有變更，也會在應用程式中顯示，並再次請您選擇。
